Trailer Choir’s Big Vinny Hickerson has survived another week on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser.” Hickerson lost another 10 pounds this week, putting him at 372 lbs. The singer/songwriter started out as one of this season’s heaviest contestants, with a starting weight of 426 lbs.

Vinny recently revealed that his struggle with his weight stemmed from being abused as a child.

“I thought I could protect myself if I was bigger,” Hickerson tells The Tennessean. “When I was 9 years old, I started eating as much as I could every day. Then I got so big and got out on my own at the age of 14. The thing was, I was already over 300 pounds and then it was, ‘What can I do to prove that I’m not worthless?’”

The “Rockin’ the Beer Gut” singer is now ready to face the challenge of getting healthy.

“Now I realize that I have to face this thing and deal with those issues and realize I was a lovable person,” he says.

According to Country Aircheck, Big Vinny is currently at home in Nashville and isn’t allowed to discuss how much weight he’s lost because the show’s finale won’t air until December 13. He’s also hiding out from the paparazzi to avoid any spoilers.

“I was going to take my girlfriend to the Colbie Caillat concert, but really just couldn’t because someone might see me and take a picture,” Vinny says. “Not that anyone would recognize me now. I look like a completely different person and don’t have any overalls that fit anymore.”

Fans can catch Big Vinny on “The Biggest Loser,” Tuesdays at 8pm EST on NBC.
