Miss Tennessee USA 2013, Brenna Mader, Shares Country Festival Style Tips

As a huge fan of CountryMusicIsLove and fashion – I am thrilled to have the opportunity to bring my “halfway between a hipster and a beauty queen” vision to some chic country music festival looks. Having worked in numerous capacities for both major country music channels in Nashville, I actually spent a summer two years ago on a tour bus going from festival to festival. There are certainly a wide variety of looks present at these festivals – some fun, and some… well… let’s just say, questionable. Make sure you don’t get a fashion citation with one of these fun looks!

This first look emulates the hipster country fan. One of my most vivid memories from working the festivals is how hot it always got. This retro headband will keep hair from looking limp and wilted by the time the main act goes on stage. The red lip will stay put, add polish and flair to any look. The sunglasses will protect your eyes from the sun and hide any melting mascara or eyeliner. The cool mid-finger chevron ring will make you stand out as your wave your lighter in the air! For a total of $85.80, you’ll have plenty of cash left over for a funnel cake!

The second outfit, which I’ll refer to as indie cowgirl, is all about the accessories! Pair a simple tank and some sassy fringe shorts with a pair of great cowboy boots, a flower headband, and a hand chain for fashion that won’t slow you down or keep you from dancing the day and night away at only $135.90!

This last look is somewhat of a fantasy at $834, but the good news is that the actual clothing will only cost you $110. The designer accessories are what drive up the cost of this look – and let’s get serious, good accessories are what can make any outfit! Every once in a while, it’s good to invest in some quality pieces that won’t go out of style, like the RayBan aviators or turquoise earrings. The main idea at a festival is to look cool without looking like you tried to look cool. What better way to achieve that concept than with a breezy white dress, denim vest, lots of fringe and a few accessories that you just “threw on?” If Blake Lively and Pocahontas had a baby, this is the outfit she would wear to CMA Fest, Country Thunder, or any other outdoor country concert!
