Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood Duet on ‘American Idol’ Series Finale

The series finale of American Idol is airing Thursday night and the show is going out with a bang.

During the two-hour live finale event, a number of collaborations will take over the stage, including one between Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood. The two country superstars sang “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” by Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty.

The performance isn’t the first time the two have collaborated together. Underwood is slated to appear on Urban’s upcoming Ripcord album on the song, “The Fighter.”

“Carrie and I toured together a few years ago and every night we’d do a song together,” he said of the song. “I’ve always loved singing with her. We had written this song, ‘The Fighter,’ that needed a female voice and Carrie’s voice immediately came to mind. I can’t wait for people to hear it – and hope that we get to do it live.”
