Following an unwritten tradition, country music meets Nascar once again on Saturday, May 9, when Billy Currington will perform a pre-race concert at the Southern 500 in Darlington, S.C. Currington will also sing the National Anthem prior to the race. “I've always been a big NASCAR fan so being able to perform at one of the greatest tracks on the circuit is going to be really great,” said Currington. “I remember watching the Southern 500 growing up as a kid. Being able to be a part of that this year in 2009 is something I will remember for the rest of my life.”
